To me it looks like DNS server's can be updated from DHCPv6 servers. When I have my DHCP server providing IPv6 addresses, it seems that the DHCP server never even attempts to communicate with the DNS server to update the AAAA and PTR records.The two config files are as identical as they can be.When I serve IPv4, DNS gets updated, but when I serve IPv6, I it doesn't.We have 2 DNS servers and randomly when we move a machine to a different VLAN, the DNS entry never registers the new IP. ddns-updates on; ddns-update-style standard; update-conflict-detection false; allow client-updates; ddns-domainname "local.domain.com"; ddns-rev-domainname ""; update-static-leases true; default-lease-time 7200; max-lease-time 7200; authoritative; [...] Whenever a client gets a new IP from the DHCP, the DNS registration works perfectly.
